Antwerp, Belgium based platform for Afrocentric rhythm and percussive music run by DTM Funk.
DTM Funk is David Mizero Tricot, one of Antwerp’s busiest bees and a long time contributor to the scene in Belgium. One of those DJ’s you can genuinely call genre-defying. He runs his own label, San-Kofa Rhythm Records, a platform for Afrocentric rhythm and percussive music and recently launched Labi & Funk, a recordstore / hairsalon with a firm focus on Black Soul Music.
Four years following the release of Up High Collective‘s debut, the Belgian beat posse return with their new project through San-kofa Rhythm Record, Koinonia.
Koinonia packs 10 kaleidoscopic instrumentals blending South Asian spirituals strains with Brainfeeder-esque beats and orchestral ambient. Koen De Petter and Ronaldo Maria, known as Up High Collective, invited several musicians to participate in their new album, including the legendary Belgian drummer Lander Gyselinck and sitar musician Bert Cornelis. Koinonia refer to mutual reciprocity between the collective and guest musicians.

Following the release of his first solo album in eight years, French techno icon Laurent Garnier commissions a series of remixes of his 33 Tours Et Puis S’en Vont LP.
This summer, Laurent Garnier announced the launch of his latest landmark album. The newest LP showed why he is such a vital force with a series of cuts, distilling his 30+ year career experiences into cutting-edge electronic music full of tension and release. Now, he continues to prove he operates at the vanguard with this exemplary assembly of remixers.
UK techno mainstay Works Of Intent opens up with his Farewell remix of Reviens La Nuit, a dark, pulsing techno sound with widescreen cosmic chords and unsettling modulations. Romantic techno master Voltaire then flips Tales From The Real World into a scintillant melodic excursion with arps cascading down the face of the track and fizzing synths lighting up the electro beats.
Next is 22Carbone, who is featured on the original album but here remix In Your Phase into a grimy, broken beat with rigid bars and twisted metal textures next to the menacing mic work. Rocco Rodamaal has 30 years of experience and is one of few veterans who remains genuinely relevant today. He offers two versions of Liebe Grüße aus Cucuron – a smooth, deep, elongated techno trip and a fizzing Keys Mix doused in melodic charm.
New York’s new wave techno star Anthony Cardinale, aka Avision, lights up his remix of Le Swing Du Pouletto with radiant and optimistic synths and a dark, brooding low end. Later, he brings plenty of marching menace and pent-up synth tension to his rework of Liebe Grüße aus Cucuron. Reshit‘s take on On the Record offers a dreamy ambient soundscape with downtempo breaks and expansive prog-rock style synths.
This sophisticated selection of techno remixes brings all-new emotions and moments of dance floor brilliance to Laurent Garnier’s superb originals.

A return to the dark romantic of the past, present and future. An undying passion for all things post-punk/wave/body music and beyond.
After 2021’s sprawling Next Wave Acid Punx compilation, the Berlin by way of New York City extraordinaire, Curses (aka Luca Venezia), returns with DEUX. The 49-track release—jammed into three CDs and three double LPs—packs a serious punch of dark dance; with an array of genres that include minimal synth, new beat, electro and italo body music, there’s something here for everyone. DEUX will be out on October 20th via Eskimo Recordings.
Next Wave Acid Punx DEUX is a mining of music meant for dance spaces, an archival of electronic music from its very birth to the current wave. It takes the listener on a journey from industrial and EBM innovators, Throbbing Gristle, Absolute Body Control, Nitzer Ebb and Cabaret Voltaire, to the underground royalty of The KVB, The Hacker and Essaie Pas, to today’s most revered artists such as Boy Harsher and Zanias. From the post-punk emotional volatility of Sad Lovers & Giants‘ classic “Things We Never Did” up through the goth-doused mechanical dance of Buzz Kull, the release introduces and reconnects old loves with new.
Listen to two tracks by Mary Möör and Cabaret Voltaire that are taken from Curses’ classics selection.

Sdban Records, the renowned independent groove & jazz label behind Funky Chicken, Hip Holland Hip, and Discophilia Belgica, is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of its latest compilation album, The Belgian Soundtrack: A Musical Connection of Belgium with Cinema (1961 – 1976). Packed with the finest soundtracks boasting an unmistakable Belgian connection, this compilation takes listeners on a captivating journey through a collection of cinematic hidden gems from the early sixties to the late seventies.
Curated by the passionate duo Robin Broos and Tom ‘Pélé’ Peeters, known for their profound appreciation of obscure soundtracks, The Belgian Soundtrack showcases the exceptional talents of both local and internationally acclaimed composers and musicians. From obscure finds composed by lesser-known artists to Hollywood scores performed by world-renowned musicians, this compilation offers a vibrant blend of tracks, including the occasional contribution from renowned international artists who have lent their musical prowess to Belgian films.
The Belgian Soundtrack came into being as a serendipitous adventure. Former film journalist Jan Temmerman reached out to us one day, offering a treasure trove of vintage soundtrack albums discovered in his attic,” recounts Robin Broos. “With 650 long players, mostly unheard of titles, we embarked on an extraordinary quest—to listen to every single one of them, totaling a staggering 29,250 minutes. It was like watching the original Star Wars trilogy 78 times!”
What started as a quest soon evolved into an intriguing investigation fueled by curiosity. Along the way, Broos and Peeters unearthed dozens of treasures, delved into the backgrounds of obscure composers and musicians, and witnessed an array of enigmatic films. “We encountered an abundance of (un)necessary nudity that we never could have imagined existed,” Tom Peeters laughs. The outcome of their explorations is The Belgian Soundtrack, a meticulously curated collection of funky, melodic, and uplifting tracks, each crafted exclusively for the silver screen and boasting an unexpected Belgian connection.
